Italian luxury house Fendi has taken cues from a sophisticated 1960s Roman apartment for its new flagship store on London’s Sloane Street.

Spread over 4,700 sq ft across two floors, the space uses sumptuous features such as velvet wall linings, lacquered shelves and carpeted flooring to create a luxurious but cosy feel.

The boutique was designed by Milanese firm Dimore Studio, which has also created Aesop’s Corso Magenta store in Milan and several sites for Hermès.

Vintage furniture including three Pierre Cardin wood chairs from the Seventies, Chinese bamboo chairs from the 19th century and a table lamp by Gianfranco Frattini are showcased alongside contemporary art pieces.

Women’s accessories and bags are showcased on the ground floor, while the second floor features the brand’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections. The dedicated womenswear area also includes a VIP space, while the men’s area is modelled on a private office with a chestnut armchair and a black table.

The luxury brand has also a luxury flagship store on London’s New Bond Street, where near neighbours include Cartier, Chanel, Gucci and Saint Laurent.
