Luxury British perfume house Penhaligon's has updated its "Elisabethan Rose" scent, launched in 1984, with a fresh, modern take on its classic female fragrance. This new version sees the composition reworked, going from a floral aldehyde to a veritable celebration of roses, with a floral woody musk. It's due out from March 2018 in Penhaligon's boutiques.

An emblem of England dating back to the Wars of the Roses in the 15th century, the rose takes center stage in a new fragrance from Penhaligon's. The perfumer has, in fact, given this 2018 fragrance a double rose heart, channeling freshness, strength and delicateness.

"Elisabethan Rose 2018" opens with top notes of hazelnut leaves, almond oil and cinnamon. The heart reveals the rose duo -- with Centifolia rose oil and rose absolute -- wrapped in aromas of red lily. Base notes bring characterful aromas of vetiver, musk and wood.

The majestic bottle comes with red and white details, symbols of purity, peace, love and passion. A rose blooms at the center of the bottle, in which the pale pink scent is visible.

"Elisabethan Rose" rolls out in boutiques in March 2018.
