Fabrizio Cardinali is new Etro CEO

Etro has appointed Fabrizio Cardinali as its CEO, effective in the fourth quarter of this year. The company said he brings “more than 25 years of strategic leadership expertise and an unmatched track record of driving international brand growth in the luxury fashion space”.

That includes, most recently, at Dolce & Gabbana where he held several roles with the company, and had been COO and executive member of the board since June 2017. He also spent five years at Richemont, leading several luxury fashion brands of the group as CEO, including Dunhill and Lancel.

He will now work closely with and be supported by” L Catterton, the global consumer-focused private equity firm that announced a strategic partnership with Etro back in July, alongside the founding family, including chairman Gerolamo Etro.

Cardinali said it’s “an exciting time for this iconic fashion house,” and he looks forward to helping it capitalise on “a number of exciting opportunities to grow the customer base and expand our category offerings and international footprint”.

Meanwhile Luigi Feola, managing partner and head of Europe at L Catterton, called him “an unparalleled leader in luxury fashion with incredible vision and creative energy. His depth of expertise and operational acumen make him well-suited to drive this new chapter of growth as we look to build on Etro’s incredible legacy around the world”.
