Dubbed 'Building a Lasting Impact', the exhibit aims to highlight the work of its 2022 Gucci Changemakers Scholars, which is a social impact initiative focused on increasing inclusion and diversity within the fashion industry and across communities and cities.

In particular, the exhibit, curated by Kiana Wenzell, co-executive director of Design Core Detroit, highlights the work of twenty-four scholars and designers representing an array of mediums from fashion to photography, to painting, to architecture and digital illustration.

The exhibition follows the opening of Gucci’s new permanent home in Downtown Detroit. Spanning over 3,500 square feet, the boutique opened last month and offers a wide collection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, jewelry, watches, and Gucci décor.

To celebrate the opening of Gucci’s Downtown Detroit boutique, the luxury Italian brand equally launched a second chapter of its collaboration with Detroit designer, Tommey Walker, and his homegrown label, Detroit Vs. Everybody.

Gucci originally identified Detroit as a focus city for the 'Gucci North Americas Changemakers' program in 2019. The exhibition is open to the public and will run until September 11.
