The power of shopping and tourist destination Carnaby as a retail magnet continues. The Shaftesbury-operated street in central London has now attracted global streetwear brand Ksubi to its growing portfolio of key fashion and lifestyle brands.

Ksubi will open at 10 Carnaby Street in October with the 2,132 sq ft store becoming its first UK flagship location as it looks to “expand its loyal fan base” in the country.

The brand, which is currently stocked at End, Selfridges, Matchesfashion, Browns Fashion and Harvey Nichols in the UK, has grown into a “globally-recognisable and notorious streetwear brand, known for its distinctive denim and embraced by celebrities”.

Creating that loyal following has been boosted by collaborations  with Travis Scott and Kendall Jenner, it said.

Samantha Bain-Mollison, Retail Director at Shaftesbury said: “Hailing from Australia, the brand's offering is a unique blend of denim and streetwear to add an exciting element to the existing retail mix. With Carnaby's fashion and music heritage there is no place better for a distinctive brand like Ksubi to set up their first UK store.”

Carnaby has become a key success story for Shaftesbury in attracting fashion brands in a difficult post-pandemic period for retail. More recent additions have been UK debuts for IKKS Paris and Gilly Hicks with the street a key element of the US brand’s EMEA expansion.
