Shoe designer Maya Lakis has teamed up with her good friend Melanie Huynh, the noted stylist and founder of beauty brand Holidermie, to create a capsule boot collection for charity.

The pair plan to donate 15% of all sales to Toutes à L’Ecole, a charity based in Cambodia. Launched in 2005 by French journalist and TV host Tina Kieffer, Toutes à L’Ecole aims to improve education for local girls in Mainland Southeast Asia.

Says Lakis, a mother of two little girls: “After a rough year of lockdown, I wanted to infuse a burst of life into this limited edition in collaboration with Melanie, the perfect partner to add her unique and refined sense of style. I was also drawn to Melanie’s holistic approach to life and her humanitarian side. This is why we were both keen on reflecting the collection’s inspiration of hope by donating a percentage of profit from sales to Toutes à L’Ecole.”

With the lockdown tunnel nearing its end, the dynamic duo decided to offer women one boot style in four different colors - black, beige, blue and grey. Inspired by the cosmos, universal energies and secrets of the stars, the brand says, the limited edition boot will be available from August.

“From my introduction to Maya about a year ago a lovely friendship was born and [now] a beautiful collaboration.  As women, mothers and entrepreneurs, we evolve and take on challenges day after day with a smile and determination,” added Huynh.

Released in August 2021, exclusively on mayalakis.com, the made-in-Italy boot is priced at 1480€.
